1902 – In Bien Hoa town, a healthcare facility was built primarily to serve residents living in the town, named Bien Hoa Hospital (Bien Hoa Charity Hospital).
1957 – 1972 – The hospital was renamed Pham Huu Chi Hospital with bed capacity increasing from 50 to 150 beds.
After April 30, 1975 – In the heroic atmosphere of the country’s reunification day, Pham Huu Chi Hospital was taken over by the revolutionary government and renamed Dong Nai Provincial Hospital, marking a historical milestone and opening a new bright development path.
1994 – Dong Nai General Hospital was classified as Grade II under the Dong Nai Department of Health by Decision No. 992/QĐ-UBT dated May 16, 1994, of the Dong Nai Provincial People’s Committee.
Over 45 years after liberation, with the attention of the Party and State, the efforts of hospital staff and provincial leadership, along with the support of the provincial people, on December 18, 2007 – the Dong Nai Provincial People’s Committee approved the Dong Nai Provincial General Hospital construction investment project, which began construction on November 27, 2008, in Tam Hoa ward, Bien Hoa city, covering approximately 9 hectares.
2010 – Dong Nai General Hospital was classified as Grade I by Decision No. 1112/QĐ-UBND dated May 10, 2010.
April 25, 2015 – Dong Nai General Hospital was officially inaugurated and put into operation with a capacity of 1,400 beds – including 700 public beds and 700 public-private partnership beds (blocks A and B).
2021 – Dong Nai General Hospital separated block B to become Dong Nai Hospital-2.
